Are the Monday Blues real?

I came accross a news item that was quite interesting.
Not much practical use but interesting none the less.
Apparently there was study conducted in Australia to test the theory that people are more depressed on a monday morning and more elated on a friday evening.
Well apparently its a figment of our imagination. The study found that people were just as happy on monday mornings as they were on friday evenings.
In actual fact, they discovered that wednesday was more likely to be the day when people felt a bit down.
"As it turned out, the real low point of the week, we found, was Wednesday, not Monday, and that mood change was only slight," Professor Areni said.
(from the NZ Herald)
So it would seem if you are depressed on a monday, you are probably depressed the rest of the week as well (and watch out for wednesdays).
So there goes that excuse. If you aren't looking forward to work on mondays, it's not because it's a case of monday-itis, it's because you need to be looking at your job in general and why you are unhappy.
